Hello there! My name is Alaïa Giglio, and I've always been a keen appreciator of writing by hand. While living in Italy, I embraced the art of the pointed pen and started developing my own script. I went on to practice at the Reed College Scriptorium, where I learned the basic Italic and Copperplate forms, and I've combined these inspirations in my modern calligraphy styles.

The Clay & Ink studio specializes in custom wedding and event calligraphy:

• save-the-dates and invitation suites

• envelope addressing

• place/escort cards, table displays, menus, programs, and signage

• thank you notes

Additionally, I create custom modern calligraphy logos and branding collateral.

When not inking, I enjoy getting my hands messy on the pottery wheel, in the kitchen, and in the PNW outdoors. I’m loosely based in Santa Cruz, CA but travel often.
